Request for approval to accept from King of Christmas the donation of 20 Christmas trees for youth and families that were in need and wanted to celebrate Christmas.

end

Background and Discussion:

Due to an excess inventory of Christmas trees, Nick Vison, CEO of King of Christmas, generously donated 20 Christmas trees to youth and families who wished to celebrate Christmas but did not one.  The trees were distributed to youth participating in Specialty Court Programs, the RISE Program, the Gang Caseload, CUPS 1, and the TCU Program.

Expected Impact:

Providing donated Christmas trees to families in need through the Juvenile Probation Department supports family engagement while advancing juvenile justice system transformation.  Beyond meeting a seasonal need, this effort promotes connection, dignity, and community inclusion for youth and their families.  By fostering positive relationships and demonstrating meaningful support, the initiative helps build trust, strengthen family bonds, and reinforce a more compassionate, community-centered approach to juvenile justice.

Alternative Options:

Had this donation not been provided, these families would have been without a tree for Christmas.
