title
Request for approval of a change in contract with Millis Equipment LLC, in connection with Hufsmith-Kohrville Rd 2, with an addition in the amount of $171,036.35, Job No. 23/0308-5, UPIN 15104M23NP02, Precinct 3, MWBE Contracted Goal: 28.5%, MWBE Current Participation: 30.95%.
end
Background and Discussion:
Project included the reconstruction of Hufsmith-Kohrville Road from Hollow Glen Lane to 500' North of Ezekiel from 2 lane asphalt road to 4 lane concrete curb and gutter boulevard with 32' raised median with traffic signals at Lacey Road and Ezekiel Road. There are two outfalls within limits of the project, North Pointe Blvd and Champion Wood Dr detention ponds. A change order is required to address unforeseen groundwater conditions that necessitated extended well-pointing operations, a modification to the fitness area where grade changes require lowering the equipment, additional traffic signal signage at Old Hufsmith Road and Lacey Road that falls outside the original scope, and remediation of the South Pond-previously removed during construction that require change in design which now requires erosion repair to properly close out the project. This Change in contract will allow the contractor to be properly compensated for the additional work.
