Background and Discussion:

This amendment will provide additional materials engineering and testing services to support construction materials testing for the White Oak Bayou Federal Flood Damage Reduction Project. This project occurs in the 1st quartile under the 2022 Prioritization Framework approved by Commissioners Court. This amendment is to increase the agreement amount and update the fee schedule for materials engineering and testing professional services to allow the project to continue.

Expected Impact:

Materials engineering and testing services under this agreement will provide essential quality control and assurance, ensuring that soils and construction materials meet specified standards and performance criteria, ultimately leading to enhanced structural integrity and longevity while reducing risks and costs associated with earthen and material failures. This quality control and assurance will help ensure that flood risk reduction projects are constructed properly.

Alternative Options:

The alternative to approving this item would be to select another firm for this assignment, which would result in a lack of materials testing support for this ongoing project and potential project delays.
