title

Request for approval of an agreement with West Harris County Municipal Utility District No. 9, to construct and maintain public hike and bike trails on HCFCD Units E100-00-00 and E111-00-00 (White Oak Bayou Watershed, Agreement No. 1546, Precinct 3).

end

Background and Discussion:

Request for approval of a new interlocal agreement with West Harris County Municipal Utility District No. 9 (WHCMUD No. 9) to replace the existing interlocal agreement (Agreement No. 832) allowing the continued maintenance of the previously constructed public hike and bike trail, to include the addition of a pedestrian bridge crossing HCFCD Unit E100-00-00, with a combined trail length of approximately 9,240 feet (1.75 miles).  (White Oak Bayou Watershed, Agreement No. 1546)

Expected Impact:

By entering into this hike and bike agreement with WHCMUD No. 9, it will allow the WHCMUD No. 9 to continue maintenance of their existing sidewalks and features, as well as construct a pedestrian bridge, for the enjoyment of the community.  It will also continue to reduce maintenance responsibilities for the District as WHCMUD No. 9 will be responsible for the vegetation management in the agreement area.

Alternative Options:

If this interlocal agreement is not executed, WHCMUD No. 9 will not be able to construct the proposed trail for use by the public.
