Background and Discussion:

This project consists of the construction of approximately 11,400 Linear feet of 6-foot-wide sidewalks along north and south Woodforest Boulevard.  The project limits are from Redstone Street to Freeport Street.

The delays in project progress during the period from July 8, 2024, to July 16, 2024, were primarily attributed to adverse weather conditions (Hurricane Beryl), which hindered travel to the site, material delivery, and halted work due to wet site conditions and power outage of the material supplier.  The extension requests for weather conditions and heavy rainfall were evaluated and approved in accordance with item 5.27.  This change will add additional 8 days to the contract.

Expected Impact:

Adding additional days to the contract time.

Alternative Options:

No action will result in substandard construction.
