Background and Discussion:
One in eight babies is born preterm each year in Harris County, representing 12.3 percent of all county births. To highlight the needs of pregnant people and babies in Harris County on World Prematurity Day, Precinct One requests approval of a resolution in support of March of Dimes, Harris County Public Health, and other community partners who are working to improve maternal and child health outcomes.
