Project Description:

This project upgrades the audiovisual technology throughout Bayland Community Center, modernizing the Auditorium, Room 6/7/8, and the Annex to support flexible programming, presentations, and events. The Auditorium will feature a 120-inch main screen, dual 85-inch side displays, ceiling speakers, Bluetooth audio, wireless microphones, and a ClickShare system, replacing its outdated audio setup with a fully integrated AV system. Room 6/7/8 will receive a short-throw projector with a rollable screen, Bluetooth-enabled ceiling speakers, lapel and handheld microphones, and a touch panel controller, transforming it into a dual-use space for presentations and physical activity. The Annex, currently unequipped, will be outfitted with dual 85-inch displays, wireless AV capabilities, microphones, and ceiling audio. All spaces will include ClickShare for wireless sharing, centralized touch controls, rack-mounted systems, encoders/decoders, and supporting infrastructure for seamless AV integration.

Justification & Alternatives:

If the AV upgrade project is not pursued, the center will continue to operate with outdated and limited equipment, which will restrict functionality and user experience across all three spaces. The Auditorium would remain without any visual display capability and rely on low-quality speakers controlled remotely from another room, making it unsuitable for modern presentations or events. Room 6/7/8 would lack a projector despite having a screen, and would continue offering only basic wired microphone access, limiting its versatility for programs and classes. The Annex would remain completely unequipped, unable to support any AV needs. These limitations would hinder the center’s ability to host effective community programs, meetings, and events. They would require staff to rely on ad hoc, inefficient solutions that are not scalable or professional.
