Background and Discussion:

On August 6, 2024, Commissioners Court approved negotiations with IEA, Inc. for professional engineering services for the assessment and design of the SH 249 Tomball Tollway Pavement Surface Repairs design, bidding phase, and construction phase services. Pavement surface replacement of Tomball Tollway is due for maintenance in the section that was installed in 2015. The existing surface is an asphalt Permeable Friction Course (PFC) which currently has a 5-8 year life cycle. As part of the design phase, the designer will evaluate alternatives to PFC that are cost effective, require less maintenance, and longer life spans while providing the same or better level of driver safety.

Expected Impact:

Cost effective recommendations and improved roadway conditions.

No other recommended option for this identified need.
