Background and Discussion:
The project consists of the design and construction of the northbound bridge and approaches along Greenhouse Road over Cypress Creek. The project limits are from 0.3 miles north of Winding Willow Oak Way to 0.3 miles south of Mound Rd which primarily consists of a bridge that is 1,800 feet in length. This proposed bridge typical section will be a mirror image of the existing southbound bridge which is approximately 1,800 feet with 17 spans and includes a 20-foot approach slab at each end.
To prevent water from draining off the bridge onto the sidewalk, the drainage system was extended under the sidewalk and connected to a Type A inlet. In addition, a retaining wall was added to protect the adjacent bank under the new bridge and along the proposed sidewalk from erosion. This change in contract will allow contractor to be properly compensated for the additional work.
The change in contract includes the following:
New Items:
• DRAINAGE CONNECTION TO TYPE A INLET 1 EA = $5,706.64
• RETAINING WALL CONSTRUCTION 30.5 LF = $12,307.97

This change will allow the Contractor to be properly compensated for the additional work.
