Background and Discussion:
Project includes Repairs/Replacement of Concrete Pavement, Curbs, Driveways, Sidewalks and Related Items in Harris County Precinct 2. The Precinct has requested that new bid items be added for road safety with the installation of speed hump.
Expected Impact:
This agreement will allow the firm to conduct field and laboratory testing on soil, concrete, asphalt and various other construction materials to ensure the material’s compliance with Harris County Engineering Department’s adopted standards and specifications as required by state law.
Alternative Options:
Construction materials testing is required by state law. Thus, alternatives include issuing a purchase order for similar services to a different vendor or cancelling this construction project.
