Background and Discussion:
Harris County Universal Services Public Safety Radio team is in need of an update to its existing radio asset management tool that manages a range of radio assets, preventative maintenance, work orders and billing. On January 23, 2025 Commissioners Court approved the advertisement of a solicitation for a Radio Asset Management and Work Order System. HCUS is now requesting approval of an award to MCM Technologies LLC on the basis of best proposal meeting requirements.
Expected Impact:
Implementing the radio asset management tool will allow Radio Services to better manage and maintain all radio subscriber and infrastructure assets for Harris County and the additional 34 counties on the TXWARN Radio System. This asset management tool allows for better technology integration of current radio-specific monitoring and reporting solutions, which will enable the Public Safety Radio team to have greater abilities to ensure all assets are properly maintained.
Alternative Options:
Renew contract with existing service provider. This will hinder Universal Services Radio Services’ ability to provide a better radio asset management experience and integrate greater radio system integration capabilities into the solution.
