Background and Discussion:

Washburn Tunnel completed construction in 1950.  Facility condition assessments are routinely performed on the tunnel to assess its overall condition and the condition of its elements.  As part of the assessments, it has been determined that the tile adhesion has been compromised and requires replacement. This request for advertisement for professional architectural and engineering services qualifications will allow for design for the removal and replacement of the tile and tile adhesion.  This will also allow for inspection of the tunnel liner currently covered by the tile. With Commissioners Court approval, the solicitation for qualifications will be advertised for a minimum of three weeks.

Expected Impact:

Identify qualified firms for the Project.

Alternative Options:

No other recommended solutions for this identified need.
