Background and Discussion:

On or about February 29, 2017, the City of Houston and the Flood Control District entered into an Interlocal Agreement to provide for the design, construction, and replacement or modification of the City’s Hike and Bike Trail (“Trail”) along portions of Keegans Bayou from the confluence with D100-00-00 (Brays Bayou) upstream to the south side service road of US Highway 59 where the Flood Control District was completing necessary repairs to channel side slope for the same area under HCFCD Project ID D118-00-00-X007 (the “Project”).  While completing the work, additional eroded areas were discovered within the project boundaries which necessitated an additional $43,000 in trail removal and repair which is the subject of this interlocal agreement amendment.

Expected Impact:

The objective of this amendment is to allow payment of the City’s remaining obligation for the Flood Control District’s design and construction effort made for the Hike and Bike Trail.

Alternative Options:

Do not proceed with the amendment.  The City’s remaining obligation will not be made and the Flood Control District will not be compensated for its work performed.
