Background and Discussion: Harris Health identified Northwest Health Center as a priority area for improved ambulatory access based on community-need and access considerations, including limited nearby resources for the target population and anticipated area change associated with redevelopment activity.
Expected Impact: Acquisition of the property will advance Harris Health’s voter-approved bond program by enabling development of a new community-based health center in a high-need area of Precinct 1. The project is expected to expand access to outpatient health care services closer to residents, reduce barriers to care, support earlier intervention and chronic disease management, and increase Harris Health’s capacity to serve this area and other north Houston communities.
