Background and Discussion:
This change in contract is needed to complete the construction contract for this project. General Repairs includes erosion repairs and sediment removal. Major emphasis of this repair contract will be earthwork, including but not limited to erosion repair, riprap installation, sediment removal, pipe installation, and related items. The purpose of this contract change is to extend clearing and grubbing quantities. The contract change includes 30 days and $0.00.
Expected Impact:
This change will allow the contractor to construct the project so that Harris County can realize intended flood risk reduction benefits.
Alternative Options:
This is an active construction contract, so there are not many alternatives to approving a
change order other than cancelling the contract, which is not recommended as doing so would substantially delay the remaining work in the construction contract.
