Background and Discussion:

Under this award, the Sheriff’s Office has successfully launched the Take Me Home Program, which has been met with overwhelming community support. The department has made significant progress in raising awareness of the program and enrolling clients into the program for locative devices. Due to unforeseen procurement delays, which have included two advertisements for competitive bids, the Sheriff’s Office submitted a no-cost extension to the U.S. Department of Justice to request additional time to procure the locative technology devices.

Expected Impact:

The project seeks to utilize locative technology to facilitate the rescue of missing individuals with forms of dementia or developmental disabilities.
