Background and Discussion:

As part of Senate Bill 6 implemented in 2023, a Public Safety Report (PSR) is completed for each person that is having a bail set. The PSR includes a case number, demographics, criminal history, and other justice status factors.  If the Clerk’s Office identifies an error, the report will not be submitted to the state Public Safety Report System (PSRS).  This has led to a cumulative backlog that multiple justice agencies are coordinating to resolve and submit.

Expected Impact:

Overtime will quickly resolve the PSRs and submit to accurately reflect the workload of the Courts in Harris County.

Alternative Options:

Incorporate into daily work processes but this has not proven to resolve in a timely manner.
