Request Summary (Agenda Caption):
title
Request by Housing and Community Development for approval of a first amendment to the agreement with Magnificat Houses, Inc. to extend the term through May 31, 2026, increase the Limitation of Appropriation, and update the Budget (Exhibit B-1) for the Guest Advancement Center project funded with Flex Funds.
end
Background and Discussion:
On November 12, 2024, Commissioners Court approved a Master Agreement between Harris County and Magnificat Houses, Inc. utilizing $116,250.00 in General Flex Funds to support the Guest Advancement Center project. This project allows Magnificat Houses, Inc. to provide employment and job training services to homeless persons.
The First Amendment will extend the project term by an additional seven (7) months, through May 31, 2026; add $133,750.00 in Flex Funds to the Master Agreement - increasing the Limitation of Appropriation to $250,000.00 in Flex Funds; and revise the project budget. The additional funding will increase Magnificat House, Inc.’s capacity to deliver employment and job training services.
Expected Impact:
The project will receive an additional $133,750.00 in Flex Funds, from unspent funds originally allocated to Magnificat’s CFI Infrastructure project that was not feasible. This increase brings the total Flex Fund allocation to $250,000.00.
