Background and Discussion:
The County engaged Walter P. Moore & Associates, Inc. in 2024, and now seeks Walter P. Moore & Associates, Inc. to facilitate the design of a 12-foot-wide asphalt trail between Russ Poppe Park to Cypress Park. The asphalt trail will transition to a concrete pedestrian undercrossing below North Eldridge Parkway. The project will also include the design of a pedestrian bridge at K100-00-00 (Cypress Creek), and the addition of approximately 20 parking spaces at Cypress Park.
Expected Impact:
Executing the agreement will allow the firm to proceed with the study and design of a parking lot addition at Cypress Park, and an asphalt trail, pedestrian undercrossing, and pedestrian bridge between Russ Poppe Park to Cypress Park.
Alternative Options:
The alternative is to not design the parking lot addition, asphalt trail, pedestrian undercrossing or pedestrian bridge, and leave the existing undeveloped areas as-is between Russ Poppe Park to Cypress Park.
