Background and Discussion:
As part of the project, Intersection Improvement - South Fry Boulevard at Highland Knolls Drive - 2022, the existing traffic signal is going to be upgraded. The upgrade of the signal will require a Service Outlet Location Statement with CenterPoint Energy.
Expected Impact:
Approval of the service outlet location statement will allow CenterPoint Energy to provide electrical service to the traffic signal, which is needed to enhance operations of the intersection of South Fry Boulevard and Highland Knolls Drive.
Alternative Options:
All traffic signals require a power source, which is typically obtained through CenterPoint Energy. Alternative options are to place a generator, which is not reliable, or to not make improvements to the intersection, which will not improve existing conditions.
