Background and Discussion:

Harris County Precinct 2 requested the Office of the County Engineer to install 38,120 square feet of pervious parking lot at the Seabrook Sports Complex in Seabrook, Texas.  The project, aligned with the Revive2Thrive vision, aims to enhance safety, mobility, and parking capacity by replacing the deteriorated surface and upgrading infrastructure.  These improvements will reduce pedestrian-vehicle conflicts, support safer access, and create a more accessible and enjoyable environment for surrounding residents.

PCO-1: This change order is to account for Bid Item 45: Manipulation of Cement for Stabilized Subgrade (6 in), which was included in the original bid but was inadvertently omitted from the original Purchase Order (PO) total.  The original bid included Bid Item 45 with a quantity of 225 SY at a unit price of $20/SY, resulting in a total of $4,500 (225 SY × $20/SY).  However, this amount was not reflected in the Purchase Order reducing the total PO amount by $4,500.

This work was part of the original contract and is essential for the proper completion of the project in accordance with the contract documents.  This Change Order corrects the Purchase Order by adding the previously omitted Bid Item 45, increasing the project cost by $4,500, and updating the total Purchase Order amount to reflect this addition.

Summary change to Purchase Order:

•                     Original PO Amount: $790.453.00

•                     Increase Due to This Change: $4,500.00

•                     Revised PO Amount: $794,953.00

This adjustment ensures that the Purchase Order accurately reflects all bid items and maintains alignment with the contract requirements.

Expected Impact:

The changes increase the contract cost to ensure the project meets its originally intended objectives.  This change order adds $4,500.00 to the project contract, raising the Original PO Amount of $790,453.00 to a Revised PO Amount of $794,953.00, with no additional contract days added.

Alternative Options:

No alternative options: If no action is taken, the parking lot and other infrastructure construction will not be completed.
