Background and Discussion:

The U.S. Geological Survey provides the Flood Control District with real-time surface water and discharge data at agreed upon gage stations.

Expected Impact:

The joint funding agreement between the U.S. Geological Survey and the Flood Control District to continue surface water monitoring provides valuable lifesaving information to residents and emergency management officials.

Alternative Options:

Without this agreement, the U.S. Geological Survey would discontinue the gages that the Flood Control District contributes to each year. Some gages have been in place since the early 1900’s.
