Background and Discussion:
Project consists of the reconstruction of several concrete pavement roadways in various locations within Precinct 4. This agreement includes inspection services and field and laboratory testing on soil, concrete, asphalt, and various construction materials to ascertain specification compliance.
Expected Impact:
This agreement will allow the firm to conduct field and laboratory testing on soil, concrete, asphalt and various other construction materials to ensure the material’s compliance with Harris County Engineering Department’s adopted standards and specifications as required by state law.
Alternative Options:
Construction materials testing is required by state law. Thus, alternatives include issuing a purchase order for similar services to a different vendor or cancelling this construction project.
