title

Request for approval of change in contract No. 3 with Solid Bridge Construction LLC, for the Meyergrove Detention Basin, adding 19 calendar days (Brays Bayou Watershed, Bond ID Z-02, Project ID D500-11-00-E001, Job No. 23/0306, Precinct 1, MWBE Contracted Goal: 32%, MWBE Current Participation: 67.5%).

Background and Discussion:

This contract amendment extends the contract duration by 19 days - 8 days for inclement weather and 11 days to address the accidental release of treatment plant effluent into the basin. The Meyergrove Detention Basin project includes the construction of the D500-11-00 Stormwater Detention Basin along with recreational community trails.

Expected Impact:

This change will allow the contractor to construct the project so that Harris County can realize intended flood risk reduction benefits.

Alternative Options:

This is an active construction contract, so there are not many alternatives to approving a change order other than cancelling the contract which is not recommended as doing so would substantially delay the remaining work in the construction contract.
