Background and Discussion:
Mill and overlay reconstruction of Green River Drive from Green’s Bayou to Van Hut Lane with base repair from Greens Bayou to John Ralston Road and CE King Boulevard to Van Hut Lane. Full pavement reconstruction from John Ralston Road to CE King Boulevard. Pavement improvements totaling approximately 22,094 linear feet. This project also includes installation of underground drainage utilities to mitigate flooding for all adjacent properties and roadway users.
Expected Impact:
This agreement will allow the firm to conduct field and laboratory testing on soil, concrete, asphalt and various other construction materials to ensure the material’s compliance with Harris County Engineering Department’s adopted standards and specifications as required by state law.
Alternative Options:
Construction materials testing is required by state law. Thus, alternatives include issuing a purchase order for similar services to a different vendor or cancelling this construction project.
