Background and Discussion:

Family Place Libraries is a proprietary program designed to enhance the parent/child bond and parents’ confidence in their parenting skills. The bulk of the program is delivered through specially designed workshops, which are delivered at the libraries. The libraries are outfitted with toys and inviting spaces for families to play together. This grant allows the program to be installed in five branch libraries.

The period of performance was extended to September 30, 2026, to allow additional time to expend funds.

Expected Impact:

This program provides high-quality parenting training to people who may otherwise be unable to access such services at the Baldwin Boettcher Branch Library and Stratford Branch Library. In addition, it also teaches participants how to access community services.

Alternative Options:

The library could not extend that grant performance period, causing the previous award funding to remain unused. There were no alternative options identified.
