Background and Discussion:
East Harris County Healthcare & Social Services Hub is a 10,650 square foot building that will provide wrap -around healthcare and social services for the East Harris community. This new facility will be located at 15430 East Fwy, Channelview, TX 77530. The project is primarily funded through CDBG-DR with matching funds from
Precinct 2 & Public Health. Change Order includes:
1) Rental of one mobile generator and supply of fuel to run it. This was required to supply power to the site office and construction activities. $4,579.11.
2) Daiken HVAC Roof Top Units (RTUs) order was canceled by the County due to long delivery schedule of up to 40 weeks. Cancellation fee was imposed in accordance with procurement agreement. $12,052.85.
3) Building doors hardware are being upgraded with card access readers and some doors to include panic devises to meet the building design intent. $8,988.79
Expected Impact:
Upon completion, this project will significantly improve the operations and efficiency of service to Harris County Precinct Two Community. This change order will ensure the new building will be placed on a surface that has not impacted by any existing structures and extend the longevity of the building footprint.
Alternative Options:
Commissioner court could postpone the change order, which would postpone the completion of the project,
effecting substantial completion date.
