Background and Discussion:

Harris County Public Health Services is seeking approval to renew its agreement (230068) with Laboratory Corporation of America (LabCorp) for laboratory services supporting diagnostic and preventive testing across public health programs. The agreement was originally awarded in 2024 through a competitive Request for Proposal (RFP) process and includes four one-year renewal options. Renewing the contract for the next term will allow Public Health Services to continue accessing laboratory testing, screenings, and timely reporting of results necessary to support clinical operations at HCPH clinics. This renewal ensures continuity of services without interruption and maintains compliance with applicable state and local laboratory requirements.

Expected Impact:

Renewal of the agreement with LabCorp will ensure continued access to reliable and timely laboratory services needed to support diagnosis, treatment, and preventive care. Maintaining this contract will support consistent service delivery across public health programs, particularly for uninsured and underinsured populations, while ensuring laboratory services remain compliant with regulatory standards. This renewal will help sustain efficient clinic operations and avoid disruptions to patient care.
