Background and Discussion:

The County seeks to retain MBCO Engineering, LLC to conduct the study and design for upgrading the existing Stockdick School Road from 2-lane asphalt pavement with roadside ditches to a 4-lane concrete boulevard with medians, underground storm sewer, and sidewalks on both sides. The project includes the study and design of 2 new traffic signals at the intersections of Stockdick School Road with Peek Road and Porter Road.

Expected Impact:

The project will upgrade the 2-lane asphalt roadway to a major 4-lane concrete throughfare and will expand the capacity of the roadway to handle the demands of the current and future traffic volumes. The improvements will alleviate congestion, reduce delays, and provide safe mobility for residents, pedestrians, and drivers in Northwest Katy. The project will provide safe crossing for students at Patricia Paetow High School and Stockdick Junior High School.

Alternative Options:

If not approved, the residents and road users will not benefit from the mobility improvements in their area.
