Background and Discussion:
The Bridge Repair - Brinsap 2020 Package -2 project site consists of improvements and repair of bridges in various locations within Harris County. Major work activities include erosion repairs to seven bridges in Harris County - Precinct 3. Erosion repair work includes restoring eroded channel sections mainly below the bridge and a ditch, re-installing failed riprap, installing new riprap, replacing failed existing concrete slope paving, installing new concrete slope paving, backfilling undermined abutment caps, undermined bottom of box culverts and undermined concrete slope paving, replacing sections of corrugated metal pipes, and backfilling sinkholes.
The changes in contracts include:
• An additional quantity of 112.4 Square Yard of Sodding for the existing line item # 073 is needed to install as proposed in the plan with an additional cost of $2,248.00 and 2 calendar days.
• An additional quantity of 1.83 Acres of Hydromulch for the existing line item # 074 is needed to install as proposed in the plan with an additional cost of $9,150.00 and 2 calendar days.
Expected Impact:
The change will allow the contractor to complete the proposed work according to the design plan and repair the eroded CMP.
