Request Summary (Agenda Caption):
title
Request for approval to purchase $50.00 Walmart gift cards in an amount not to exceed $1,613.12 (including shipping) from Hawk Marketplace to provide as incentives for individuals participating in the Ryan White Grant Administration’s Ending the HIV Epidemic (EHE) Consumer Advisory Board (CAB).
end
Background and Discussion:
The Ending the HIV Epidemic (EHE) Consumer Advisory Board (CAB) provides critical input to guide program planning, improve service delivery, and strengthen community engagement across Ryan White Grant Administration initiatives. CAB members contribute lived experience, insights on service accessibility, and feedback on emerging needs within the Houston HIV care system. To support consistent participation and recognize the time and expertise provided by CAB members, Ryan White Grant Administration offers modest incentives in alignment with federal guidance. The use of gift cards as incentives is allowable under the Ryan White HIV/AIDS Program Services: Eligible Individuals & Allowable Uses of Funds Policy Clarification Notice (PCN) #16 02.
Expected Impact:
By encouraging sustained involvement from individuals with lived experience, the incentives support more inclusive planning processes, stronger alignment with community priorities, and better-targeted strategies for reducing HIV disparities in the Houston Eligible Metropolitan Area, including Harris County.
