Background and Discussion:
The District is looking for a supplier of corrugated metal pipe to facilitate in-house repair projects by the Maintenance Construction Group (MCG). This term contract will allow for bulk purchases of corrugated metal pipe which will allow for working on multiple projects at the same time. The recommendation is to award this contract to supply corrugated metal pipe and related items to the low bidder, Dominion Construction & Supply.
Expected Impact:
MCG performs the repairs for small projects received from the public. The bulk purchase of pipe will expedite work on multiple projects instead of individual purchases for each project. Maintenance Matters Prop “A” funds the labor and materials to expedite these small repairs by MCG to address public concerns.
Alternative Options:
The alternative is to “do nothing” and process each small repair project individually and slow down response time.
