Background and Discussion:

The Aldine Village Subdivision Drainage Improvements - 2018 (East Package) project consists of subdivision drainage improvements. Major work activities include replacing and upsizing storm sewer systems and reconstructing roadside ditches along Sellers Road between Ridgeland Court and Corvette Court, including culvert and driveway replacements, constructing a new storm sewer along Corvette Court, and constructing an extension of HCFCD channel Unit No. P118-25-01

The additional funds will cover the construction phase services agreement to allow for construction oversight of the project.

Expected Impact:

This project seeks to reduce flood risk and strengthen resiliency in Harris County by assisting in the alleviation of structural flood damage to homes in the community. Engineering support during the construction of the improvements is a step in the process to reduce the financial, physical, and emotional burden flood damage places on homeowners and will reduce the financial impact of recovery costs to the Aldine Village Subdivision Project area, Harris County, and FEMA. The fiscal impact for this project will come from the 1080 Fund for the Recovery and Resiliency Division subdivision projects with the long-term goal of reducing drainage costs in the future. No impact to project schedule or staffing anticipated.

Alternative Options:

If no action is taken, the engineer of record will not be accessible for support through the
construction of the project.
