Request by the Commissioner of Precinct 3 for approval to accept from the U. S. Department of Housing and Urban Development grant funds in the amount of $3,600,000, with no required match, for the Highlands, Huffman, Crosby Roadway and Drainage Improvement Project (B-24-CP-TX-2075).

Background and Discussion:
Precinct 3 will utilize this Community Project Funding grant to reconstruct two distinct locations in far east Harris County - Mobile Homes Parkland and Patiowoods. The Mobile Homes Parkland scope of work reconstructs Lochness Dr and Greenbow Lane from a gravel road with undefined drainage to an asphalt roadway with a roadside ditch and driveway culverts. The proposed scope of work occurs within an existing right-of-way. The Patiowoods scope of work reconstructs approximately 1,750 feet of failing, substandard concrete pavement with a concrete curb and gutter roadway with storm sewer.
Expected Impact:
Reconstructed roads will improve safety, ensure homes are accessible by emergency vehicles, and improve drainage in these neighborhoods.
