Background and Discussion:

This Agreement will provide engineering feasibility study for the Hunting Bayou watershed. This project includes modeling and evaluation of existing flood risk and identification of short-term and long-term flood risk reduction opportunities. Deficiencies of local drainage infrastructure relative to current local drainage standards will be identified and regional drainage infrastructure improvement areas will be determined. Through detailed modeling analysis, a final flood risk reduction feasibility plan will be drafted prioritizing a list of drainage improvements based on metrics that quantify area, roadway, and structural flood reduction potential.

Expected Impact:

This study is funded under a CDBG-MIT grant and any potential flood risk reduction projects identified through the study will be used to inform flood risk reduction strategies within the watershed and pursue future funding opportunities.

 Alternative Options:

The alternative to approving this item would be to cancel the project, which would result in loss of grant funding.
