Request Summary (Agenda Caption):

title

Request by the Commissioner of Precinct 3 for approval of the reallocation of ARPA FLEX funds for civic art from the Barrett community fund to the Highlands community fund to support implementation of civic art improvements.

end

Background and Discussion:

Precinct 3 issued two Requests for Proposals (RFPs) for civic art projects in Barrett (at Riley Chambers Park) and Highlands (at Highlands Park). A contract has been awarded for one RFP, and the other RFP was re-bid and is pending award. Based on evaluation of the submitted proposals for the rebid RFP, the anticipated award will result in the Highlands project exceeding the allocated budget and remaining funds in the Barrett project. Transferring $10,224.59 from Barrett to Highlands would fully utilize the allocated civic art funding for both communities while reducing the resulting matching contribution required for the Highlands project.

Expected Impact:

This budget adjustment will result in the complete expenditure of the allocated ARPA FLEX funds for civic art projects in both communities. The installed civic art improvements will elevate the parks’ civic presence by integrating art with play and foster community identity through inclusive, multi-sensory experiences that complement

the existing park infrastructure.

Alternative Options:

Alternate options include not adjusting the Highlands project budget, resulting in a greater matching contribution required to complete the project.
