Background and Discussion:

Currently, there are ten (10) vehicle bays at the facility, but only four (4) are fully enclosed which allows for a few vehicles to be completely secured while being processed. The other six (6) bays have a carport covering. Expanding the number of fully enclosed vehicle bays, will ensure the vehicles are securely stored for processing. Improving the security and exterior artificial lighting will aid in ensuring this facility allows for secure storage and vehicles parked in the back storage lot. The expanded office space will allow for a more productive work environment for the employees assigned to the facility.

Expected Impact:

Approval of this Professional Services contract will provide a Technical Consultant to the HCSO for Expansion of the existing facility to meet the demands of the future it will be necessary to double our footprint at the HCSO Vehicle Crime Processing Facility.

Alternative Options:

The County could elect to reject the request. However, if not approved, the lack of Technical Consultant advising the HCSO will hinder the ability to provide sufficient space for the vehicle crime processing facility.
