Background and Discussion:
The Holzwarth Road corridor is in northwest Harris County and the roadway is classified as a major thoroughfare with high volumes of traffic. A significant number of accidents have been reported for portions of this corridor. A contract amendment for additional services for traffic engineering services related to median openings design and evaluation is necessary to proceed with the study.
Expected Impact:
Executing the amendment will allow the consultant to proceed with the study of the Holzwarth Road corridor to further evaluate traffic conditions along this corridor and provide alternatives to improve traffic conditions.
Alternative Options:
The alternative is to not conduct the median openings design and evaluation, proceed with the corridor study, and leave the median openings as-is.
