Background and Discussion:

The contract was previously awarded on November 9th, 2021. The agreement was updated on December 5th, 2023, to support MWDBE goals and update the name from Parkonect to FlashParking Inc. Since then, rolldown gates at 1019 Congress were installed to ensure safety and security; This amendment will incorporate the operation of the rolldown gates with the new parking equipment. Funding codes will be pulled from the enterprise parking fund.

Expected Impact:

With the implementation of upgraded equipment, it would allow the parking system to operate seamlessly with the rolldown gate. The upgraded features will streamline access to the drivers entering the parking garage while providing added protection for all users. Overall, these enhancements will contribute to a more efficient and secure parking experience.

Alternative Options:

The County could operate a different access control system for the rolldown gates. However, such a system would not synchronize with the parking equipment.
