Background and Discussion:

On July 15, 2024 Commissioners Court approved an award to JANUS Software, Inc. dba JANUS Associates for penetration testing and assessment of the County’s information security posture to ensure that it is configured and is operating the Information Technology (IT) infrastructure in a secure manner that meets or exceeds the County’s compliance obligations, and that the County’s electronic risks are adequately addressed.

Expected Impact:

The penetration testing provider shall, on an as-needed basis, assist in a comprehensive range of services related to conducting penetration testing activities. These activities are designed to provide the County with insights into external and internal vulnerabilities within agency networks, assets, and applications. This is part of HCUS’s strategic initiative to develop strong proactive measures for the rapid detection and response to security threats and incidents.

Alternative Options:

Continue utilizing existing security and threat protection tools.
