Background and Discussion:

The project is located in east Harris County, north of I-10.  The existing Garth Road configuration in the project area (FM 1942 to 100' South of Sterling Summer Drive) is a 2-lane asphalt roadway with roadside ditches that has a non-standard skewed connection with FM 1942.  The goal of the project is to design and construct a standard 4-lane concrete boulevard with curb and gutter and to improve the skewed connection to a standard connection.

Expected Impact:

The proposed project will increase the traffic capacity for the active development in this area, as well as improve driver safety at the intersection with FM 1942.  The project is funded by 2022 Bond funds.

Alternative Options:

Without this project, the new road improvements on Garth Road will not be realized as requested by Precinct
