Background and Discussion:
Additional design work is necessary for an intersection redesign that was not ADA compliant for a new traffic signal. The signal is being built by Traffic Signal On-call contract. Precinct 4 requested the EOR for Clay Road 1 do the redesign work. Clay Road 1 is a road widening project in Precinct 4 from Peek Road to Ventana Prairie. The project consists of upgrading the roadway and drainage from a 2 lane asphalt road to a 4 lane asphalt boulevard section. The project was designed by Precinct 3 and handed over to Precinct 4 at the time of redistricting. The Engineer of Record needs to update the drawings to add an ADA compliant crossing for a future traffic signal. The signal was not warranted at the time of road construction so an on-call Traffic Signal Contractor is going to build the signal. Precinct 4 wants to use the Construction Phase Services contract of Clay Road 1 to complete the redesign work.
Expected Impact:
The new design will allow us to build an ADA compliant crosswalk during the traffic signal construction.

Without the redesign the signal will be constructed with no crosswalks.
