Background and Discussion:

Office of County Engineer obtained approval to negotiate with AUTOARCH Architects, LLC for professional architectural and engineering design services required for interior construction of Precinct 4 office suite at 1001 Preston St., Houston, Texas 77002.

This project includes the renovation of approximately 2,900 square feet of existing office space. AutoARCH, LLC will provide architectural and engineering design services for new finishes, furniture, equipment, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, network, and security systems.

Expected Impact:

The approval of this agreement will allow the firm to conduct the necessary design for the construction to the existing spaces to provide Precinct 4 with an energy efficient working environment that meets the most current facility guidelines and standards while maximizing the use of the existing limited space.

Alternative Options:

Alternative option for this project would be for Precinct 4 staff to remain occupying the existing office suite without the renovations and requiring constant repairs and maintenance due to outdated mechanical and

electrical systems.
