Background and Discussion:
The limits are marked along HCFCD Unit K100-00-00 and located at the Cypress Creek Watershed along the channel K100-00-00, near the intersection of Whispering Valley Dr and Telge Road. This Agreement will provide preliminary engineering. This project has been identified in the Cypress Creek Implementation Plan, and the PER associated with this project will determine the benefits and geometry for the proposed stormwater detention basin. This project occurs in the 2nd quartile under the 2022 Prioritization Framework approved by Commissioners Court.
Expected Impact:
The project seeks to reduce flood risks and strengthen resiliency in the Cypress Creek watershed by helping to mitigate overland sheet flow, overbank flooding, insufficient drainage capacity, overflows from neighboring catchments, and tailwater influence from Cypress Creek.
Alternative Options:
The alternative to approving this item would be placed on hold until funding is acquired for construction and design and PER which would result in no project.
