title
Request for approval of an award on the basis of best proposal meeting requirements and that the County Judge execute an agreement with Rubicund LLC; Anchoring Hopes Wellness Recovery Institute LLC dba Anchoring Hopes; and Rids Brother Company Inc. for supplemental non-metered transportation for Harris County RIDES and non-emergency medical programs for the Housing and Community Development Department for the period of February 6, 2025 - August 22, 2025, with two (2) one-year renewal options (240240).
end
Background and Discussion:
Three new vendors awarded contracts from RFP Job # 24-0240. This is a supplemental of the original contract 21/0385. Awards to RIDS Brothers, Rubicund and Anchoring Hopes will be 1 year term plus two renewals. Collectively all vendors will share annual award with current 2 vendors under 21/0385 to provide services for the two programs. These transportation programs serve seniors, disabled and vulnerable low-income populations and were designed to fill in the gaps for transportation in the County. RIDES is a county-wide service and the Medical Program serves only unincorporated Harris County. These services are grant funded.
Expected Impact:
More transportation options and increased capacity for RIDES and Non- Emergency Medical Program clients.
Alternative Options:
If contracts not approved, populations of seniors, disabled and low-income have limited transportation options.
County Strategic Plan Goal: 4. Improve physical and mental health outcomes across all communities.
County Strategic Plan Objective: G: Expand and optimize multimodal transportation options.
