Request by the Sheriff’s Office for approval to accept an amendment to an agreement with the Office of the Governor/Public Safety Office to modify the award to $3,865,775.05 and extend the end date to February 28, 2026, for the FY25 Texas Anti-Gang Center grant.

Background and Discussion:
On October 29, 2024, Commissioners Court approved the grant award from the Office of the Governor for
grant funds in the amount of $ $3,333,645, with no cash match requirement. The TAG Center supports
strategic partnerships and targeted regional, multidisciplinary approaches to combat gang violence through
the coordination of gang prevention, intervention and suppression activities. This amendment will allow the program to secure necessary investigative software licenses and make full use of the awarded grant funds.
Expected Impact:
This grant is used to fund TAG Center operations along with supplies, personnel, equipment and software
expenses to be utilized by HCSO and partnering agencies for the purpose of investigating gang related crimes
in this region.
Alternative Options:
Not accepting this award would forfeit the funding opportunity for the TAG Center. There were no alternative option identified.
