title

Request for approval of an interlocal agreement with Clear Brook City Municipal Utility District to construct and maintain a public hike and bike trail around the Southbelt Stormwater Detention Basin (HCFCD Unit A520-03-00, Clear Creek Watershed, Agreement No. 1538, Precinct 2).

end

Background and Discussion:

This interlocal agreement will allow construction and maintenance of a public hike and bike trail along the Southbelt Stormwater Detention Basin (HCFCD Unit A520-03-00), with a combined trail length of approximately 6,700 linear feet. This interlocal agreement will provide public recreational trails for the community to use and enjoy at no additional cost to the Flood Control District.

Expected Impact:

By entering into a hike and bike agreement with Clear Brook City MUD, it will allow the Clear Brook City MUD to construct sidewalks and features for the enjoyment of the community.  It also reduces maintenance responsibilities for the Flood Control District as Clear Brook City MUD will be responsible for the vegetation management in the agreement area.

Alternative Options:

If this interlocal agreement is not executed, Clear Brook City MUD will not be able to construct the proposed trail for use by the public.
