Background and Discussion:
Precinct 4 recently purchased 2 full-facility mobile generator units. They are currently stationed at Tomball Service Center. In order for them to be deployed and used at Bayland, Fonteno, Hockley, Freed and Glazier centers for emergency back-up power during and after disasters, five docking stations are needed to be located permanently at each center to allow a mobile generator to quickly connect up on location. These Precinct 4 locations are designated as warming/cooling centers during and after extreme weather events.
Expected Impact:
Docking stations will allow mobile generators to power multiple facilities as needed.
Alternative Options:
Mobile generators will not be able to be utilized without electrical docking stations.
