Background and Discussion:
Section 823.005 of the Health and Safety Code requires that the Harris County’s Animal Shelter have an advisory committee to assist with compliance with animal shelter standards outlined by the chapter. The bylaws will provide structure and clarity regarding committee governance, composition, and the term length of appointed members.
Expected Impact:
The committee will continue to advise and report on recommendations it deems effect to ensure the Veterinary Public Health Division complies with Texas Health and Safety Code, Chapter 823.
