Background and Discussion:

Harris County Universal Services has decommissioned these units as they fall outside of our 7-year asset lifecycle goal and are no longer usable for Harris County departments. Donating these units will assist external first responder agencies with replacing outdated radio units that cause congestion on the network and weaken its performance. This work will strengthen the radio system’s resiliency and ensure a better experience for first responders in the area. The total estimated value of this donation is $90,000.
